Anyone that humoured me and read this article a couple of weeks back, might be interested in this.
To cut a long story short, Peter Costello has given the go ahead for a hostile take over of Western Mining (WMC) by a company called Xstrata.
Western Mining just happens to have access to 30% of the worlds known urainium.
Xstrata is partly owned by, and shares five board members with, a company called Glencore.
Glencore have a bad reputation of doing seemingly shady deals with countries like Iraq.
Now, the reason I'm interested in this story is because, I don't think its a good idea for our treasurer to make one third of the worlds uranium available to a company that deals with terrorist states.
Xtrata's bid for WMC is something like 8.4 Billion Dollars Australian. But the Latest reports are that BHP Billiton are thinking about making a counter bid.
This story appeared on Four Corners this week, So if history is any guide, it's about to get bigger. Because that show is usually one week ahead of everyone else.

If your'e interested (and your'e probably not) Here are some articles on the issue.
