I'm not a Greeny but........

I think we are all used to America doing things that only benifet themselves and have no regard for the rest of the world. But now Australia is right down there with them.

The Kyoto accord, is an international agreement that mandates cutbacks of 5.2% in greenhouse gases below 1990 levels by 2012

Of the 38 developed nations present at Kyoto, all but three, Australia, The US, and tiny little Monaco have signed the treaty.
Australia and the US have rejected the agreement on the grounds it would damage their economies.

For some reason Australia has set its own target of increasing emissions by 8% by 2012.
