JIM MOGINIE

In recent months, the number one spot on the Australian Album Chart has been taken up by such poxy acts as Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, A Chris Isaak Best Of, James Blunt, and Some shit about a High School Musical.

So this is my attempt at getting a true Australian songwriter to the top of the chart.

Jim Moginie has spent years writing, performing and recording with other people. The
Midnight Oil guitarist, keyboard player, songwriter and producer is always in demand and has recently been working with Sarah Blasko, Kasey Chambers, The Sleepy Jackson, Silverchair, Neil Finn and End of Fashion. But now it’s time for Jim to focus on his solo career with the release of his first album, ‘Alas Folkloric’

If you like good music go to one of the many online record shops and buy this album. There is a limited edition 2CD set available now for around $27 and the standard edition for less than that.

You know you can afford it.

So please do your bit to push this album to number one and further cement Jim's place in the history books as a true Aussie music legend.

Dave Grohl To Give Miners A Big Night Out

This is an update of an earlier post.
Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl promises a big night out with Todd Russell and Brant Webb, two miners who were trapped for two weeks in a mine at Beaconsfield, Tasmania earlier this year.
Dave GrohlThe miners were given mp3 players during their time down there, and Webb had requested the Foo Fighters to be loaded onto his one.
News made it back to Grohl and he offered, at the time, to have a beer with them anywhere at any time.
Speaking to Triple J's Jay and The Doctor this morning, Grohl said "I was willing to flip the bill to have them come half way around the world just to hang out and have a beer, and then it turned out they couldn't come."
"And you know what, I'm not just having one beer with those dudes, we're going for it. This is going to be a big night."
The Foo Fighters will play two acoustic shows at the Sydney Opera House on October 3 and 4.
