Reg Reagan - Blood Sweat & Beers!

Reg Reagan is a legend, a League enigma, an icon of the game and now Reg is back with a brand new DVD!

GO AND GET STUFF'Blood, Sweat & Beers!' is jam packed with more hilarious moments from one of Rugby Leagues busiest and most well-known personalities.

Reg comes from a time that has long passed, sadly some may say. A time where a slab of VB and a packet of "Winnie Reds" before a game were considered holding back.A time where a stiff arm or a swinging right resulted in a friendship for life with the bloke you'd concussed.

While the game has changed... Reg Reagan hasn't!

NEW MP3

There is a new MP3 in the sidebar.
Wampy has been good enough to upload one of my favourite cover versions.
Frank Zappa getting his unique LED OUT and doing Stairway To Heaven in a style that only he could.
Like the original, It's a little sleepy until you get about two thirds in.
But it kills from then on. Especially from about the six minuite mark.
When he replaced Jimmy Page's guitar with a full brass section.

Wampy's Shack of Vibes

Go here to check out more of Wampy's songs. And while your there, check out another of my favourites, "Boom Sha La La Lo" by ,apparently local Carrum boy, Hans Poulsen

Have A Nice Day You Bunch Of Bogans.

Even though they are leaping head first into middle aged life, Its good to see the mullet headed bogans from the eighties are still out buying records and keeping these guys in business.
Bon Jovi's new album, "Have A Nice Day" debuted at number one on the Australian charts today.

"Have a Nice Day returns to the bounding pop metal
mode of their last hit, 2000's Crush. Jon and Ritchie
continue to turn out great songs on a consistant basis
and this is an album which is lacking any filler tracks.
A very cool, rockin' album from New Jersey's second favorite sons."

Man builds up 30,000 volts of static electricity.

Big thanks to Scott for this story.
Victorian authorities believe a man built up at least 30,000 volts of static electricity in his jacket simply by walking around the western Victorian city of Warrnambool yesterday.

The man left a trail of scorch marks and molten plastic behind him.
It was yesterday afternoon when Frank Clewer walked into a Warrnambool business and got his first shock.

"It sounded almost like a firecracker or something like that," he said.
"It was at the reception area. Within say, around five minutes, the carpet started to erupt," he said.

Burns the size of 10-cent pieces were left on the carpet where Mr Clewer had been standing.
The Country Fire Authority evacuated the building and those around it, fearing the power could cause larger electrical problems.
But Mr Clewer's worries continued when he got back in his car.
"I actually scorched a piece of plastic I had on the floor of the car," he said.

Scientist Karl Kruszelnicki says it is likely the electrical build-up was caused by a number of factors, such as the synthetic clothes the man was wearing.

"This poor guy has built up static electricity thanks to an unfortunate combination of insulating clothes that he's wearing, static, synthetic clothes, just walking along and he's just building up this static charge everywhere," Dr Kruszelnicki said.

"I've read of it but I've never heard of it here in Australia."
The CFA has Mr Clewer's jacket and says it is continuing to give off voltage.

Leapin' Leo, You Bloody Champ!

Read This Full Article

Sydney has ended the longest premiership drought in AFL history in the most emotional and heart-stopping fashion imaginable by beating the West Coast Eagles by four points in the most exciting and closest grand final for nearly 40 years.

Incredibly the outcome of the entire season came down to the last second of the game when the Eagles, trailing by four points, had one last chance to win the grand final when ruckman Dean Cox pumped the ball forward to within 30 metres of goal as a huge pack flew for the mark.

A crowd of just under 92,000 fans held their breath and it was Sydney's courageous defender Leo Barry who assured himself a place in AFL folklore for ever by taking a magnificent mark to ensure the Swans hung on to win their first premiership since 1933.

I Hope We Haven't Seen The Last Of This Legend.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I know this blog has seemed like a James Hird fansite recently, but I think there is room for another champion.
Robert Harvey is the cousin of one of my cousins (by marriage / he and I were both at the wedding), He is an old mate of one of my mates, and he is a local boy from Seaford. So due to those three things, I'm claiming him as my own.
Just look at this guys career-

Brownlow Medal 1997, 1998;
best and fairest 1992, 1994, 1997, 1998;
2nd best and fairest 2000, 2003;
3rd best and fairest 1990, 1993, 1996, 1999;
All-Australian 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003;
International Rules Series 1998;
EJ Whitten Medal 1992, 1993, 1996;
AFLPA MVP 1997;
Michael Tuck Medal 2004;
pre-season premiership sides 1996, 2004;
captain 2001-2002.
It's a tragedy that he hasn't won on that one day in september.

St Kilda's premiership quest has ended at the second-last hurdle, for the second year in a row, after a 31-point loss to Sydney in the preliminary final at the MCG on tonight.
However Harvey tried his heart out for the Saints and was his team's best along with Nick Dal Santo and his 10 possessions in the third term looked to have given the home side the momentum going into the final term after the Saints kicked four goals to two in the third term.
But a Sydney attack that had relied almost single-handedly on the brilliant Ryan O'Keefe for three quarters suddenly found options galore in the final term as the Swans surged into the grand final and the Saints were left to rue falling short of a grand final appearance yet again.
I Hope We Haven't Seen The Last Of This Legend.
He was the oldest player in the league this year but nothing lasts forever.

North Shore win Flag

North Shore Bombers.......AFL-NSW-ACT

North Shore has secured back to back premiership wins on the weekend with a crushing 41 point win over the minor premiers Western Suburbs in the 2005 Sydney Football League Grand Final.
Western Suburbs went into the game as favourites having only lost one game for the season, but the Bombers went to work on Saturday and implemented a game plan that unravelled the Magpies and brought the premiership cup back to Gore Hill.

Bombers over Magpies

Shane Tuck "The People's Tool"

Shane Tuck with his shorts on backwardsFootball attire is kept to a few simple things in Boots, socks, jumper and shorts. Easy enough to get right you would think?

Well unfortunately for Tiger midfield star Shane Tuck, he played an entire half of football with his shorts on back to front!

So for his unfortunate wardrobe malfunction, Shane Tuck got the round 19 HOME HARDWARE TOOL OF THE WEEK!

Vote for Shane Tuck as Tool of the Year here.

No Petrol day 9th September

IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN AUSTRALIA DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES. AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.

THEREFORE SEPTEMBER 9th HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT TO THEM" DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF PETROL THAT DAY. THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.

WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT
GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?

REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF PETROL GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING SUPPLIES MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!

WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD.

FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 9th A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF AUSTRALIA SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

Renthead here.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Based on the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, 'Rent,' which takes place in New York City, is the story of a group of East Village bohemians. The film showcases "525, 600 minutes" - a year - of their lives, where they deal with several life conflicts, including AIDS, death, drugs, love, and not being able to pay the rent.

Reprising their roles from the original Broadway cast of 'Rent' are Taye Diggs ("Benny"), Wilson Jermaine Heredia ("Angel"), Jesse L. Martin ("Tom"), Idina Menzel ("Maureen"), Adam Pascal ("Roger"), and Anthony Rapp ("Mark").
Joining them are Rosario Dawson as "Mimi" and Tracie Thoms as "Joanne."

The film is directed by Chris Columbus (Mrs. Doubtfire, Home Alone, and the Harry Potter films) with a screenplay also adapted by Chris Columbus and Steve Chbosky.

The musical was originally written in the mid '90s by Jonathan Larson, a young and promising composer. However, Larson tragically died the night before the first preview was performed on Broadway.

Larson's family has been an active part of the film and are very pleased with the outcome and fan support.
Robert DeNiro's Tribeca Productions and Colubus' 1492 Productions are teamed with Revolution Studios to produce, while Sony Pictures distributes.
