WORKING WITH DELUSIONAL EMOTIONS

Disclaimer - I am in no way making light of this situation.

"Delusions are states of mind which, when they arise within our mental continuum, leave us disturbed, confused and unhappy. Therefore, those states of mind which delude or afflict us are called 'delusions' or 'afflictive emotions'."His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The three most important negative mental attitudes or delusional emotions are called the Three Poisons, these are anger, attachment and ignorance. Underlying all negative emotions are one or more of these three, with ignorance at the bases of all negative emotions. Ignorance here, mainly refers to the Buddhist concept of lack of wisdom, or insight into the actual way that things exist.
My work collogues will understand the relevance of this post.

  • I'm not sure 'who' the delusional ones are, but I am sure of what is real, and a lack of understanding or compassion leads to one being ostracised and victimised.

    Time has its own way of making things right.

    If others were to concentrate on their own mediocrity and subject themselves to the same scrutiny, I'm sure that the problem would go away, or at least reduce itself to the same (ab)normality.

  • I think now that people are starting to realize that there is a real problem going on here, they'll start showing compassion and understanding instead of laughing at strange behavour and writing it of as the work of a crazy person.
    It will be interesting to see who has that compassion in them.

    Having said that, this is not something we should have to put up with in the workplace. It's been over a week now.

  • Thankfully GOD has helped out and got rid of the pest. We dont need people with a mental illness in the workplace.

  • As a sidebar, Mr Costello has provided funds in the budget for getting people with disabilities back to work.
